<p style="line-height: 2em;">Recently, the Department of human resources and social security and the Department of education of Guangdong Province have issued a reform plan to integrate the original series of professional titles of secondary vocational school teachers and the professional titles of vocational high school teachers into the new series of professional titles of secondary vocational school teachers. Different from the past, teachers of cultural courses, professional courses and internship instructors can be rated as &quot;senior lecturers&quot;. Four years ago, the title reform of primary and secondary school teachers in Guangdong Province allowed primary and secondary school teachers to be awarded senior titles.</p><p style="line-height: 2em;">The author has interviewed many secondary vocational school teachers, including many famous teachers. For a long time, there is no senior professional title in the title series of secondary vocational education teachers, and the senior lecturer with deputy senior professional title is the peak of the profession. The low professional title ceiling not only limits the treatment of secondary vocational school teachers, but also affects the enthusiasm of teaching and research. Even though many teachers are limited in their academic titles, they often want to carry out academic activities.</p><p style="line-height: 2em;">Some people will say that vocational education is skill training. Do you need teachers with senior professional titles?</p><p style="line-height: 2em;">Yes, and very much. Different from ordinary high school teachers who focus on subject teaching, secondary vocational school teachers often need to be &quot;Double Teachers&quot;, who should have both theoretical teaching ability and practical teaching ability, because they are not only the teachers of secondary vocational school students, but also the first &quot;masters&quot; of these future technical workers. In other words, the qualification and ability threshold of teachers in secondary vocational schools is even higher than that of ordinary high schools. According to the regulations on teacher qualification in China, &quot;the qualification of teachers in senior middle schools and that of teachers in secondary vocational schools are common to each other&quot;. To become an internship instructor in secondary vocational schools, it is necessary to have the corresponding professional technical level.</p><p style="line-height: 2em;">With the transformation and upgrading of industry and service industry, the demand for skilled talents is also rising, which requires higher treatment and better career platform to attract more talents to join the ranks of secondary vocational teachers, and to carry out higher-level teaching and academic research on this platform, so as to meet the needs of new industry and new service industry for the cultivation of skilled talents. From this point of view, it is very necessary to improve the title of secondary vocational school teachers in order to enhance their treatment and enthusiasm of teaching and research.</p><p style="line-height: 2em;">Of course, having a senior professional title does not mean that we should pay attention to &quot;sharing the rain and dew&quot; according to seniority, or &quot;queuing up to share the fruits&quot;, nor is it to &quot;improve retirement benefits&quot;. But through the evaluation of senior professional titles, teachers with theoretical teaching ability, vocational guidance and practical education level should be selected.
