Founded in 1958, Beijing Vocational College of Agriculture is the only full-time public agricultural higher vocational college in Beijing. It is now a national demonstration higher vocational college. It serves as the chairman unit of China Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group, Beijing Urban Agriculture Vocational Education Group, and the director unit of rural and agricultural vocational education professional committee of CSTVE.

At present, the college covers a total area of 81.22 hectares, with a construction area of 325,400 square meters and fixed assets of 712 million yuan. It has nine departments, including horticulture, animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, food and biological engineering, as well as the School of Mechatronic Engineering and the School of International Education with more than 9,000 students and 408 full-time teachers.

Now there are 39 general higher vocational majors in the college such as horticulture, gardening, animal husbandry and veterinary, pet care, food processing, biotechnology, water conservancy engineering, accounting, marketing, tourism, computer application, secretary and so on. Among them, horticulture technology, animal husbandry and veterinary, green food production and inspection are the key construction majors of the model vocational colleges, and horticulture technology is a high-level vocational college major with Chinese characteristics.
