Russian National Normal University, also known as Russia’s Herzen State Normal University or St. Petersburg State Normal University (commonly known), is located in the municipality of St. Petersburg. Founded in 1797, it has a history of more than 200 years. It is a world-renowned normal university, the oldest in Russia, and the only normal university bearing the name of the Russian country. Today, Russia’s Herzen State Pedagogical University is the largest university in Russia, with a total of more than 1,700 teaching staff, including about 260 doctors of science and more than 850 associate doctors of science.
